Best of the genera. I wouldnt look for other books besides this one in this genera. I bought a few others after i finished this one (they were like tweets through history etc) they didn't hold a candle to this one. It is educational and very funny. I understood most of the jokes and I am no History buff, and the jokes I didn't get I just googled the event read a bit and then the joke made sense. Great book!

Get this book for every millennial in your life. They may actually look away from their phone! Okay, just kidding, but the adults in my world thought this was right on in their assessment of GenZ.
College Humor ripoff. If you can find an archive online of the full, original, version of this, get a pdf, a printer, and call it a day.
Laugh out loud funny. I keep buying this book for gifts. I think I bought 4 so far. It's a facinating and funny look at history if Facebook was around. I don't see how anyone can be disappointed with this book. The author has done an excellent job. The book is colorful too and the paper is very nice and glossy too! Enjoy!!!
I'm too old to be a huge Facebook fan, but I know enough about it's workings to appreciate this book. It's amazingly irreverant in it's presentation of the history of the world and but presents many chapters of our development as a people. It's laugh out loud funny most of the time and still amusing the rest. I've bought four copies for gifts since I recieved mine and can't wait to pass them out to friends!
This is the funniest book I've read since Erma Bombeck. At times I was laughing so hard, I was crying. It covers history from the creation through the current administration using text bytes just as we communicate on facebook. Those text bytes are just as you would envision someone of that time reacting on facebook.

This is a good book to just keep close by and read a bit out of it whenever you need a good laugh. I highly recommend it.
It says right on the cover "A PARODY !!!", referring both to the history of the world, and to Facebook. This comical frolic redacts the world history as a series of Facebook wall snippets among imaginary and not so imaginary user accounts. In doing so Mr. Overstreet cunningly parodies both Facebook conventions (etiquette, language, humor) and Historical pretensions (merging both scientific, religious, political, and chronological modes that otherwise would never be caught dead in the same book).

I recommend this highly to anyone who enjoys a good laugh, and who takes neither themselves nor Facebook nor the history of the world too seriously.

I bought this book for my mother for Christmas this year. The book was delivered today and after flipping through it and laughing hysterically I ordered two more; one for each of my sister in laws. If it weren't Christmas I'd buy myself one. I'm not a fan of reading books, but this has very glossy pages and is not really "book like'. The pages look like the Facebook news feed and the posts are HILARIOUS! The only thing I didn't care for was that the outside of the book seemed a little bit dirty looking, almost like it came from a cheap print shop (sturdy, but matte cover) but the inside is in fabulous color with thick pages. And the content is so funny I'd buy it with no cover at all. I'm thinking this is gift of the year material!

I had written three really funny posts in this review, but took them out and suggest everyone just buy the book and read them for yourself!

For the record, I do not get offended easily and I'm curious if the book would be as funny to someone who isn't familiar with Facebook (photos, tagging, likes, interests, relationship status etc). Hope you enjoy the book as much as we do!!
